Square Toiletries reduces prices of 25 products

Square Toiletries Limited has cut the prices on a variety of its products as the related raw materials costs have decreased in the international market.

After cutting the prices by Tk 10, Meril milk soap bar's 150 gramme pack is now available at Tk 70.

Meanwhile, a 100 gramme pack is now priced at Tk 55, which is Tk 5 cheaper than before, said a press release.

The company is also offering discounts on Sepnil Handwash and Senora Sanitary Napkin. The 10-pad pack of Senora Sanitary Napkin now costs Tk 80, which is Tk 20 less than its previous price, and Sepnil Handwash is being sold at a discounted rate of Tk 10.

"It is our duty to improve the quality of life for our fellow citizens. Our commitment to our customers extends far beyond business transactions, encompassing a longstanding relationship built on trust," said Malik Mohammed Sayeed, chief operating officer of the company.

"We have quickly reduced prices on various products due to the decrease in raw material expenses in the global market. We strongly believe that this decrease will have a positive impact on peoples' lives," he added.

The price of laundry detergent has also decreased. A 1,000 gramme Chaka Super White now costs Tk 180, which is Tk 20 less than the previous price.

Similarly, a 1,000 gramme Chaka Advanced Washing Powder is available at Tk 135, which is Tk 10 less than before.

The 200 gramme pack now costs Tk 28, which is Tk 2 cheaper than its earlier price.

"The opportunity [to decrease product prices] was created by the reduction in prices of raw materials in the international market," Jesmin Zaman, head of marketing of the company, told The Daily Star over phone.

"We have lowered the prices of around 25 products step by step since February. It is a local company. Our intention is to stand beside the people of the country," she said.

"Actually, we have started reducing prices from February. We are announcing it at this moment because we have already adjusted the prices," Zaman added.

The cost of the 120 gramme Meril Glycerine has been decreased by Tk 25 to Tk 115. The 60 gramme pack also has a new lower price of Tk 65, which is Tk 15 less than before.
